Bio - Lawrenza Lau



Lawrenza Lau graduated from the Music Department of The University of Hong Kong in 2004 and studied piano under pianist Julie Kuok. She was awarded distinction in both of her ATCL and LTCL diplomas in piano, and has been working as a devoted piano teacher as well as piano accompanist since 2002. She has actively performed in various concerts held by non-profit music organizations PerformNow and Music-Go-Round since 2007, and is now working as a committee member in Music-Go-Round to promote classical music to the audience. She also had her debut piano recital in 2011 together with Frederic Koon under the guidance of pianist Ernest So. She is also a member of Les Pianistes which Frederic Koon founded recently in 2012. She enjoys exploring rare repertoires especially from the late romantic period, and her favourite composers include Sergei Bortkiewicz, Carlos Guastavino, Federico Mompou, Astor Piazzolla and Déodat de Séverac.
